The company I work for was planning to set up its new production unit at a remote site, which was around 300 km from Pune. I was asked to manage the site until the unit stabilizes. I was supposed to relocate near the site for around 8 to 10 months. By the end of January, I found a good place to stay (it had 2 big rooms, a hall, a kitchen, and a nice small garden). The site was hardly a 10-minute walk from the house. It was decided that, for the initial couple of weeks, my wife and I would go together, until everything was set up, and then she would return home. I would be traveling every alternate weekend back home, depending on the workload.
